10-09 to 01-10

January 2010

25th
> Long time, no update.
> I've had gastroenteritis, you can read what the NHS sat about it here.
> My pal Jayski and I are doing some things for a night in Bristol called MUTiNY. It's a very good night. They are going a fundraiser on the 6th of Feb for V-Day 2010.
> More details to come.

Making Love Hearts with Jayski and Kate

12th
> I haven't updated in ages, mainly because nothing has happened.
> I'm back at work now and that feels good.
> I joined the gym, to get a bit fitter. That feels good too.
> I've been feeling pretty down recently, I think it's something to do with the lack of daylight I've been getting. Going to the gym has helped a lot.
> I'm currently making my 2009 - 2010 lists. There are quite a few:
.. 1. Things I have achieved in 2009
.. 2. Things I could have done better in 2009
.. 3. Things I am looking to achieve in 2010
.. 4. Things I try to not do in 2010
> Maybe once I've done them I'll put them up here.

2009 OVER

December 2009

31st
> The year is almost up. It's really quite strange. I've done a lot this year, though I could have done more. Christmas was interesting to say the least, lot's of time with the family, lots of turkey. I think this year has been good. If I were more inclined I'd do some kind of 'year summary', but it's probably best that I don't.

A lovely present from my wonderful friend Uther:

27th
> It's Christmas time. I've popped back to my parents house for a few days.
> I still haven't found the photographs I was looking for on the 13th.

Here is a quick image of a large To Do list Olie Kay and I letter-pressed.

13th
> I've been up to quite a bit. Photos to come as soon as I figure out where I put them.

8th
> I've added a new section to the menu, under Perennial. Link Here.
> I had a quiet day at work today, and a very quiet evening, so I've made some slight changes to the site. I've added some colour to the links, because I felt like a change. I like the blues. I've also changed the Home page as I've been doing quite a few posters and little things at work, which I don't feel warrant having a whole page each. Projects have pages; Posters have the Home. I also decided to stop being so anal by de-alphabetising all the projects in the menu.
> I have a few photos from last week, when I find my camera I'll show you.

This Thursday... We explore how to make massive typos on posters. Damn.

6th
> Olie and I have finished our brief for The Print Exchange. More information to come.

3rd
> I've been helping out my friend Laura Parke with a website for Kerry + Kevin. Link Here.
It looks good. ( I also took the photo on the front page, it's nice.)
> I'm working on some christmas cards to letterpress.

2nd
> I don't know why I've been so slack on the updating.
> I've been working a lot.

Here's some letterpressing Olie and I did the other week.

1st
> Another new month. Where is the time going?

November 2009

16th
> Many apologies for the lack of updates. I've been feeling really run down recently.
> Below are some photos of the things I have been up to.

Filming second years perform four letter words.

Letterpressing a huge To-Do list with Olie.

I graduated on the 13th.

I've been out looking at cranes.

I went to Portishead and looked at the water.

I Screen-Printed some Triangulation point T-shirts.

Went to the Arnolfini and made cloud badges. This is Olie's. I've lost mine.

Also, on the subject of Olie, he got sent lots of monographs from Creative Review, because he's got his grandfather's B-Line magazines in them. Well done Olie.

8th
> I've had a very busy week, lot's to update on. But today is busy too.

2nd
> Third Years did their pecha kucha presentations today. I sat in and gave feedback. It was a nice day, I enjoyed hearing them talk.
> Spicy beef pizza.

1st
> I always like the first day of a new month. Except for the fact that it's rent day.
> Went to Weston-Super-Mare today, Mr Steve Monger invited Olie and I for a lovely Sunday roast. It was a very windy day, but the walk by the sea was invigorating. Weston is a strange place, full of hotels and building sites. We wondered around for a nice walk, played some 2p machines, lost lots of 2p's and generally had a good time.
> Very busy week ahead.

October 2009

31st
> Went to the Spike Island artists book & zine fair today. It was nice. There were some lovely pieces of work there. I didn't buy anything though, not enough cash on me.
> Spent some time today updating this site with the new studio photographs.
> I'm wondering wether I would have preferred to be Lancelot or Arthur.
> Ridley Scott is directing the new Robin Hood. Should be brilliant.

Detail of the Ride to Bath poster & Recently printed Fire Hose Gallery posters:

30th
> I've edited all the photographs I took in the studio last week.
> Huge update to come.

Here to There

29th
> Im tired, things at work are getting me down.
> Long long long week ahead of me.
> I had my very first Morris dance out tonight. At the Ostrich pub on the waterfront. It was amazing, the highlight of my week thus-far. I danced the dance 'Shooting'. It probably has a proper name, but I'm not sure what it is.
> I've made a mental list of things I need to change in order to be happier. It's not a very long list, but it does involve a lot of effort.
> I've typed this entire entry with the index finger of my right hand. Tired now.

26th
> We went to Burnham-on-Sea for the annual third-year trip. It was much better than the one last year for my year group. It was dry and warm, there were fish & chips, and the group seemed to get on with the long list of tasks set for them.
> In the evening I went to see Alan Davies talk about his childhood at St Georges, Bristol.

Burnham Below.

24th
> Olie and I went to Cardiff to help our friend Jez draw a line.
> It was a long day of walking and watching and dragging chalk behind us. More Information Here
> After the line, we went to a beach.

Sea Line & Sand Dance.

21st
> Went to the Watershed to see Andy Altmann from Why Not Associates talk about his work and his life. It was very interesting, he ran through over twenty years of work. His presentation style was the best bit for me, he was so relaxed, it was like we were sat in his front room.

20th
> Spent the day in the studio photographing my work.
> Photographed Olie's work too.
> I'll put the new photos up here soon.

19th
> Long time, no update.
> I've been really busy with work things. More info on the DO BLOG about that stuff.
> We've been doing all sorts, go over and have a wander around, more on the way as ever.
> Olie and I ran a workshop for the Poster for Tomorrow. It went well I think.

14th
> Went on a Graphic Design trip to London city today.
> Visited the St Brides Library and had a fantastic talk about typography and printing.
> Went to the Anish Kapoor show at the Royal Academy. It was brilliant.

Here's a shot from the trip.

8th
> Graphic Design School Trip 1 went ahead yesterday,More Information Here
> I'm working on some ideas for some things. They'll be nice.
> I'm going Morris Dancing this evening, it'll be really good.

Here is a photo from London last Friday.

5th
> I've been super busy doing things.
> Check out the DO section, we've got a proper blog now.
> My fixed bike went a bit crazy, acted out a lot, but it's alright now.
> Bike ride on Wednesday.
> Work was really nice today, I like seeing the course from the other side now.

This is Olie attacking my bike with his bike. We were phototaking for a poster.
